Here’s some great news for fans of Wilfred Mott – it has been confirmed that he’ll be filling the role of the Doctor’s companion in the last two specials!

Executive producer Russell T Davies revealed the news during an interview with BBC Breakfast this morning, meaning that actor Bernard Cribbins takes home the title of being the oldest Doctor Who companion in the show’s history!

But the announcement has sparked speculation that Catherine Tate will only be seen in the episodes in short cameo appearances, however the BBC has yet to comment on Tate’s involvement in the story, which will sadly mark the end of David Tennant’s tenure as the Tenth Doctor. Stick with us!
