David cast in Radio 4’s Of Mice And Men

September 9th, 2009

of_mice_and_menIt has been confirmed that David Tennant will star in a radio dramatisation of John Steinbeck’s classic novel, Of Mice and Men.

The actor, who will be stepping down from his role as the Tenth Doctor in Doctor Who at the end of the year, will be playing George Milton in the adaptation, which is being produced by BBC Radio Scotland. He will be appearing alongside Liam Brennan, who will be voicing the character of Lennie Small.

First published in 1937, Of Mice and Men follows the tragic story of two migrant workers in 1930s California. David will be recording it soon and it’s due to transmit as part of Radio 4’s Classic Serial slot in early 2010.

I had to study Of Mice And Men for my GCSE English Literature. Took all the enjoyment out of it. Still, I’ll listen anyway!
