Filming for the eagerly anticipated fifth series of Doctor Who continues, and for the past few days the production team have been busy shooting on location at Neath Abbey in Neath, South Wales.

Most of the action is, naturally, taking place safely inside the abbey (or what’s left of it, anyway!), but actress Karen Gillan was briefly spotted between takes sporting a thick dressing gown to keep herself warm – as snug as a bug in a rug!

Meanwhile, Matt Smith was kept hidden away from the beady eyes of avid fans, and was being followed around the historic setting by a security guard who was keeping him concealed under a large umbrella.

Also present were a group of extras, comprising of several children wearing black robes and dirty clothes…

Series 5 of Doctor Who, starring Smith and Gillan, will transmit on BBC One and BBC HD from Spring 2010.
