Confirmed: Preview of Christmas special to air on CiN!
The BBC Press Office has today released the line-up for this year’s Children in Need telethon, and with it came confirmation that a preview of this year’s Doctor Who Christmas special will be shown during the seven-hour charity show on the night of Friday 20th November!
Not only does this mean that we haven’t got long to wait until we’re treated to our first official glimpse of part one of the Tenth Doctor’s regeneration two-parter(!!!), it also suggests that the next special, The Waters of Mars, will air before the Children in Need all-nighter, so confirmation of its transmission date may be heading our way soon!
Although it’s unknown what the Children in Need preview will entail, it’s likely that it’ll either be the pre-titles sequence (the opening of the 2008 festive episode, The Next Doctor, was revealed during last year’s event), or the trailer that was previously shown at the Comic-Con event in San Diego earlier this year. As always, we’ll keep you posted!

I’m still of the belief that The Waters of Mars may air as part of Children in Need, which would mean we wouldn’t have to wait that long afterwards for our first glimpse of 4.17.
I would prefer to see a trailer actually rather than a preview clip. I think the anticipation would be much more worth it if we wait to see the episode in full. My recommendation is to see the teaser trailer from earlier this (maybe with some special edits for the british audience
)
If this means that we’re getting The Waters of Mars anytime before/during, I’m ecstatic. Come on airdate!
