Overnight ratings for The Waters of Mars

waters-explosionOvernight ratings for The Waters of Mars show that the episode was watched by an unofficial audience of 9.13million viewers.

33.9% of the total television audience sat down to watch the Doctor’s return to our screens on BBC One, and the figure peaked at 9.6million in the last 10 minutes, with an additional 310,000 tuning in on BBC HD.

This means that Doctor Who was the third most watched programme of the day, just behind The X Factor results show and the launch of the new series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! over on ITV1.

Meanwhile, the accompanying instalment of Doctor Who Confidential, Is There Life On Mars?, was watched by 590,000 on BBC3, and a further 100,000 on BBC HD.

Final figures will be released by BARB in 10 days time.
