Pre-production for Torchwood Series 4 to start in January!

November 12th, 2009

jack-harkness-tw3It has been a long time coming, but Russell T Davies has finally announced that pre-production for the fourth series of Torchwood is due to officially commence in January 2010!

The show’s creator revealed the news during a recent interview with TV Guide Magazine, confirming a brand new run of stories (or another story) following July’s epic and heartbreaking Children of Earth!

“The recession has hit British television, but fingers crossed, it will be a go. We expect things to start to move in January,” he said. “We’ve got great ideas for the show. I think there’s a further lease on life for many years to come, but certainly for a fourth season.” Stick with us!

So… is Jack coming back? Or are we going to get some of Torchwood being run from a shed behind Gwen and Rhys’ flat? Or both?! I can’t wait to find out!

WOOP! I didn’t particularly enjoy the end of Series 3 but now Torchwood can take a new direction and the impact of Children of Earth will be a great story to tell. Let’s hope it goes back to 13 episodes though… I prefer it to be like that with a long series arc.
