The Beginning of the End…

November 15th, 2009

doctor-wom-promo-spacesuitThe journey starts here! We’re now just a few short hours away from the debut of the latest Doctor Who special, The Waters of Mars, in the United Kingdom, which means that after the long months, weeks, days and minutes of waiting, we’re finally here at last!

It’s been seven months that might as well have been an eternity, and it’s hard to believe that it was all the way back in April that we last saw those glistening titles sweeping through the vortex.

Well, time really has flown by, because the long-awaited hour-long special will have its official debut tonight on BBC One and BBC HD from 7:00PM! Are you ready for the Tenth Doctor’s penultimate story? Got anything special planned to celebrate his return to our screens? So excited you’re having difficulty making sense of all these words!? Let us know how you’re feeling by leaving your pre-transmission thoughts below!

There may be one or two updates during the course of the day, depending on whether or not we can sit still long enough to write them, but if not, all that there is left for us to say is… enjoy the show, folks! And don’t forget to join us afterwards at 8:00PM on the dot to share all of your post-WoM views…

    Such an exciting day for all us loyal DW fans. I just wanted to say another quick THANK YOU to WhovianNet for all the upates over the last few months. This site is absolutely fantastic, and has made the last seven months more bearable.

    I hope everyone enjoys The Waters of Mars.

    I agree with david. Whovin has been a fantastic website to come onto last few months for updates etc and the discussion has kept me going so well done! I so cannot wait for tonight’s special. I really hope it doesnt disappoint. its had a lot of press, I just dont want to be too hyped up. but the fact you have stayed spoiler free over last few days has been great.

    Can I possibly ask if the site could stay spoiler free for the last two specials to come at all? I know its exciting when we get news and casting info but I’m sure we all want to watch DT’s final episodes with fresh eyes.

    @pirko
    Or perhaps every and any potentially spoilerish message could have its title as SPOILER. Because I quite like them, but I see why others might not agree…

    @TSG & @pirko

    Don’t worry, we won’t be posting any spoilers on WhovianNet between now and the transmission of the Christmas specials – just good old news and discussions! However, if we should ever need to post any content that gives anything away, there will most definitely be a warning beforehand, and we’ll also use ‘highlight to reveal’ text.

    I think it will be an exciting, enjoyable episode of Doctor Who and i’m loving the fact that it’s set to be the “scariest episode of Doctor Who ever”. I’m not too keen on the name of the episode (or the look of the people that have been turned into whatever they’ve been turned into) but i’m sure that will be made up with dramatic scenes and over all fun and happiness. Oh by God i hope the ending is as fun as that in Planet of the Dead.
