‘No plans’ for Donna to return in Series 5 and beyond

December 20th, 2009

catherine-tate-end-of-timeIn a new interview released by The Mirror today, Catherine Tate confirms that it’s unlikely she’ll ever be back in Doctor Who as Donna Noble after her short stint in the Tenth Doctor’s regeneration two-parter, The End of Time, this Christmas.

“I wouldn’t have thought so, but it is sci-fi so you never know,” the actress revealed. “But there are no plans for me to come back.”

Speaking about working alongside Bernard Cribbins, who plays Wilf in the long-awaited episodes, Tate said: “It was a joy. He’s so lovely. We had a brilliant time on Series 4 when we did a whole episode together, and to come back and for him to be so prominently featured is brilliant.”

The End of Time kicks off on Christmas Day at 6:00PM on BBC1/HD.
