Carey Mulligan wins Best Actress at BAFTAs!

February 21st, 2010

carey-mulliganHuge congratulations are in order for Carey Mulligan, who has reason to celebrate after being named the Best Actress at tonight’s Orange British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards!

The actress (Sally Sparrow from Blink) won the gong for her acclaimed portrayal of Jenny Miller in An Education, a coming-of-age film directed by Lone Scherfig. She was up against the likes of Meryl Streep, Saoirse Ronan and Audrey Tautou.

“I really didn’t expect this at all, so I didn’t think of anything to say,” she said during her acceptance speech. ”Thank you so much. I was here a year ago and didn’t imagine in a million years that this’d happen.” From all at WhovianNet, well done, Carey!
