Gina Bellman expresses Doctor Who interest

February 10th, 2010

gina-bellmanIn a new interview with DigitalSpy, Gina Bellman has revealed that she would jump at the chance to appear on Doctor Who because she’s desperate to work alongside Steven Moffat again.

The actress, well known for her portrayals of Jane in sitcom Coupling (BBC) and Claire in drama series Jekyl (BBC), both of which were penned by the new Doctor Who showrunner, exclusively told the website: “I’m not a Doctor Who fanatic but I am a Steven Moffat fanatic.”

She added: ”I’ve worked with him so if he was to write anything for me I’d drop everything to go and do that.”

I think she will end up being in Moffat’s Who. Shes a really talented actress and the fact shes worked with him twice must be a good case for her.

Just out of randomness. I’m wondering whether Reece Shearsmith will ever appear in Doctor Who. Mark Gatiss has already written and acted in DW, as well as Steve Pemberton (Silence in the Library). So far Reece is the only League of gent who hasnt performed in Who….just a thought
