Official: First three S5 episode titles confirmed!
There’s some very exciting news today in the form of the first three Series 5 episode titles which are officially confirmed in this month’s issue of Doctor Who Magazine!
With its long-awaited launch weeks away (it’ll be here before we know it!), issue #418 of the magazine, which is out tomorrow, reveals that Episode 1 of the new series, written by Steven Moffat, is called The Eleventh Hour (which, by sheer chance, was also the tagline we used for our Eleventh Doctor wallpaper - we must be psychic!), and Episode 2, also penned by the new showrunner, is called The Beast Below. Very curious…
Meanwhile, Episode 3 is entitled Victory of the Daleks and is by Mark Gatiss. Three guesses as to what the Doctor and Amy will be encountering in that story!
So, that’s 3 titles down, meaning 10 more to go, unless, that is, the unconfirmed rumours that Episode 6 is called Vampires of Venice are to be believed. So, without much further ado, let the speculation commence! Ah. Isn’t the run-up to a new series great!? Geronimo!

The Beast Below? No idea. Can’t even begin to guess, so of course I’ll now try to guess. Monster under the bed? That would fit in with SM’s trait of playing on commonplace psychological fears. I used to be convinced that an emerald green serpent lived under my bed, and I was terrified of it until I decided that it could only come out when I was eighty-eight. Not sure why eighty-eight, but it worked.
Good to have some confirmed titles. Especially as they all sound interesting. Things are starting to feel a little more concrete.
Woah… rumours got the Episode One title right? Awesome! Those are some brilliant titles though, especially The Beast Below with its unknown meaning
Does anyone know when Season 5 is starting? I’ve heard both March and April, and I was just wondering if there’s any concrete news.
