With Series 5 of Doctor Who just a matter of weeks away, it’s time to look to the future - and The Daily Star has taken that to the extreme today by posting details of the finale of Matt Smith’s first series as the Eleventh Doctor.

And as always with such tabloid talk, we advise that you take everything below with a pinch of salt!

The report claims that the time travellers will encounter (highlight to reveal) Cybermen, Daleks, Sontarans and other foes from the Doctor’s past in episodes 12 and 13. A show source told the newspaper: “The producers wanted Matt to end his first season as the Time Lord with something explosive and exciting. And this fits the bill.”

They added: “It’s got all the right elements for a great finale and plenty of opportunities for cliffhangers, with fans not knowing who survives.”

However, as avid followers of the latest filming developments will know, there may be some truth behind the speculation. Of course, how much remains to be seen!
