Nina Wadia has revealed that her time spent filming her guest role in a forthcoming episode has reassured her that the show is in safe hands, and that she’s sure this year’s series of Doctor Who will the best since its revival.
Speaking to MSN, the actress, best known as Zainab Masood from EastEnders, said: “I think Matt will make a great Doctor Who - he has a real charm about him, a kind of David Tennant charm, but he will make the part his own. He’s a talent in his own right.”
Reports suggest that Wadia will be playing an evil psychiatrist in the first episode of the new series, and she confirmed in the interview that many of her scenes are with Arthur Darvill, who will be playing Amy’s fiance, Rory. She described the actor as “fabulous, with great comic timing”.
She finished: “I’m really looking forward to seeing this series. I think it will be the best yet, definitely.”
