Back in April, the nominations for this year’s Constellation Awards were revealed, and its ceremony this weekend saw David Tennant win the Best Male Performance for his portrayal of the Tenth Doctor in The Waters of Mars!

He recieved 23%, while Gareth David Lloyd, shortlisted for his role as Ianto Jones in Torchwood, came 5th in the category, with 8%. Michelle Ryan came fourth in the Best Female Performance, with 13% voting for her character, Lady Christina de Souza, from Planet of the Dead.

17% of the final vote landed last year’s Doctor Who specials in third place in the Best Science Fiction TV Series of 2009. The series was beaten by Defying Gravity, 22%, and, in first place, Supernatural, with a close 23%. Day One of Torchwood’s Children of Earth, meanwhile, came third in Best Overall 2009 Science Fiction Film or TV Script.
