First Series 6 cast update, two directors revealed
The CV of actress Sophie Cosson has confirmed that she’ll be filming for the new series of Doctor Who next month.
Meanwhile, two Series 6 directors have seemingly been revealed via the CV of new production designer Michael Pickwoad. According to the listing, Richard Clark - the director of Series 3’s Gridlock and The Lazarus Experiment - will be back, as will Adam Smith, who helmed Series 5’s The Eleventh Hour and The Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone two-parter.

The sixth series of Doctor Who is currently being filmed in Cardiff, to broadcast in 2011.

It’s probably a good thing the current Who production team aren’t too concerned about spoilers (anyone remember the Series 5 trailers that featured scenes from the finale?). Otherwise you’d see people banned from posting their electronic CVs! Well, maybe not for posting that they’re directing or production designing such-and-such an episode, but let’s say Ms. Cosson’s CV were to state that she was playing Romana or Leela or The Rani — that would probably be a fairly heavy duty spoiler! Or if the CV for the writer of, I dunno, episode 10 were to reveal the title of the episode as “The One Where Amy Becomes a Sontaran” or something! ;)
Great to read that Adam Smith is returning to direct. “Eleventh Hour” was a piece of televisual magic. Oh and that two-parter wasn’t too bad either!
Gridlock had some beautiful stuff in it too, so all in all, very happy.
Talking about series 6 – SM said in the last DWM that he was going to persist in referring to it as series 2. Seriously, does he think that’s going to catch on? I tried with my friends. I failed.
Great news that Adam Smith is back, the work he did on The Eleventh Hour and the Angels two parter was stunning.
