Billie Piper has admitted that her role in Doctor Who was ”wholly responsible” for the acting opportunities that have come her way in recent years.

The actress, who is best known for appearing as the Doctor’s regular companion, Rose Tyler, in Series 1 and Series 2, with later appearances in Series 4 and The End of Time, Part Two, has explained: “It has worked out well and I can thank Doctor Who for all of that really. It was wholly responsible for giving me a great opportunity.”

Billie has previously stated that the “ship has sailed” on her time in Doctor Who.
