As you’ll all know, the Doctor Who Experience launched in style earlier today, as the doors opened up to a world of time, space and monsters galore!

The Doctor himself, Matt Smith, was in attendance, and told Sky News that he was was left blown away by the interactive adventure. “I’ve just been on it, and it’s brilliant,” he said. “They’ve built these sets that you go on, like a Dalek spaceship and Starship UK, and the TARDIS shakes and moves around…”

Matt has also been interviewed about the Experience by Jo Whiley for BBC Radio 1.

Elsewhere, there was plenty of Twitter buzz surrounding its launch, as writer and actor Mark Gatiss labelled it “a sheer delight”, and Tom Spilsbury, editor of Doctor Who Magazine, has assured fans that it is “well worth seeing”. Meanwhile, comedian Rufus Hound also had a great time (watch out for his bad language!), while model Daisy Lowe was particularly impressed by the TARDIS cakes – they do look very tasty! 

Other attendees included William Hartnell’s granddaughter, as well as celebrity fans including Stewart Lee, John Culshaw and Sanjeev Bhaskar and Meera Syal.
