During the Torchwood Q&A at Comic Con yesterday, John Barrowman echoed his previous comments regarding his potential involvement in Doctor Who’s 50th anniversary.

“Torchwood and Jack were born from the mothership, which is Doctor Who,” he is quoted as saying in BBC America’s coverage of the panel. “I think it would be great, and for the 50th anniversary, I think it would be a disappointment for a character like Jack not to make an appearance.” Jack’s return has previously been discussed by Steven Moffat.

So, would you like to see Jack back for the big 50th? Share your views in the comments!

    A 50th anniversery for Doctor Who without Captain Jack just wouldn’t do. He must be a part of it just like the remaining actors that have played the Doctor who are still alive

    I would love to see Jack, Torchwood, the whole lot in the 50th anniversary, and with the sad passing away of the brillant Elisabeth Sladen. We have to keep them all together and make it the biggest, she would have wanted that!!!

    Wasn’t this already discussed here?

    As I wrote previously, Jack has his own show. He doesn’t need to take up space on a 50th DW anniversary special.

    Now don’t get me wrong on this. I like the character. I like John Barrowman. It wouldn’t be so bad for the character to show up on some future DW episode. It just doesn’t need to be on a 50th anniversary episode.

    A quick cameo would be fine. There are many, MANY other DW characters which would be more deserving of “main character” status on a 50th anniversary episode. I won’t go into naming names, but I would wish for their appearances long before a return by Captain Jack.

    @Peter Thomas What an arrogant comment!
    “He must be a part of it just like the remaining actors that have played the Doctor who are still alive”
    So in your mind, it should only be the actors to play the Doctor and Captain Jack? What a very boring show that will be. What about the companions who have helped make the show what it is.

    @Dave
    If you read Peter Thomas‘, it says nothing about the episode(s) just being the Doctors and Captain Jack.

    Exactly. And Jack’s been an important part of New Who.
    I’d like to see the Master as well, though.
