The BBC has confirmed that Rose Tyler actress Billie Piper will be playing the lead in a new BBC Three comedy entitled Tom and Jenny.

The series follows the lives of a separated couple who both refuse to leave the house they’ve bought together. The pilot is written by Lee Hupfield (the co-writer of The Kevin Bishop Show) and also directed by Ben Palmer (The Inbetweeners Movie). A BBC insider has said: “Billie is really excited and she can’t wait to move into comedy.”

Billie has also been cast in new BBC One drama Love Life, also starring David Tennant.
