To be honest: the future of Torchwood isn’t looking that great. The BARB ratings for the first five episodes if Miracle Day have only gone down, never up. If Torchwood is renewed by the BBC, then I can’t see it being on BBC One again but BBC Two.

What do you mean they BARB ratings haven’t gone up? The New World got an overnight of 4.8million, which went up to 6.59million on the official. Rendition’s overnights were 4.4million, which offcially went up to 5.75million. For a Thursday timeslot, they’re pretty good. Torchwood has only suffered these past few weeks with Big Brother and the like. I don’t see why it would go back to BBC Two, but hey, you know everything don’t you.

I’d rather keep to the topic at hand than talk about why you seem to think I think I know everything.

I’m not talking about the BARB ratings going up from the overnights, I’m talking about the BARB ratings going down week-by-week from 6.59m for The New World to 5.17m for The Categories of Life. There’s a strong possibility that the final ratings would continue to go down for the next five episodes. Also, as a Torchwood fan, I’ll immediately say that Big Brother isn’t an excuse for the ratings going down when Big Brother’s losing its remaining audience.

I haven’t looked at the numbers so I don’t know, but a few of my friends and I always watch it online. Do BARB ratings include those? I’m aware there’s been discussion about how accurate BARB ratings are and whether or not the BBC is wise to look at them.
Anyway I love TW but depending on how this series finishes I could go either way about it’s future. Of course I’d be really happy if there are future series but at the same time this might be a good one to end on. TW has changed so much (not necessarily a bad thing overall), and when it becomes unrecognizable from a plot/character point of view I think it’s time to end. It’s getting to that point.
