Karen says she feels “privileged” to play Amy Pond
The Express has an exclusive interview with Karen Gillan, in which she reveals that she feels “privileged” to be able to play Amy Pond and challenge herself as an actor.
“I feel privileged as an actor, and to have one of the big plot lines,” she said. “I am very excited about Part 2. I’ve seen a lot of it, though I can tell you it’s a very different experience from seeing a rough cut, without all the colours, grading or the special effects. Relationships are developed in so many ways. We’ve got some great new monsters too.”
Regarding the media interest surrounding her and her role, she admits: “The interest’s not as big as last year, which is kind of nice. They are not camped outside my house so I can get milk! I deal with it as I can. But I don’t see it as an issue I have to deal with.”
Series 6: Part 2 continues on Saturday night in Night Terrors, airing 7pm on BBC One.
