Matt Smith has revealed that he doesn’t want to leave Doctor Who “any time soon”.
In a recent interview (via What’s on TV), he admitted: “We work very long hours every day for 9 months. The schedule is pretty brutal, but I’d never complain. I love playing this role, and I don’t want to give it up any time soon. I feel very lucky. In the current climate for actors, I’d never say, ‘This is too much’ – quite the opposite, in fact. I’d say, ‘Bring it on.’”
Matt’s just filmed the Christmas special, and filming will begin for Series 7 in February.

Karen Gillan popped in to have a chat to Graham Norton on his Radio 2 show this morning, and, during the interview, she discussed what the future holds for Amy Pond.
“I don’t really know what’s going on,” she admitted. “I think that’s all up in the air at the moment. I know I’m going to be coming back, but I’m not really sure when. But I know that the time will come where Amy and Rory have to leave. It’s inevitable and sad, but that’s the nature of the show, and I’ll welcome the new companion with open arms.”
She added: “I think it’s important to do other things and establish myself in other ways.”

Julie Gardner has been discussing the future of Torchwood with Assignment X, explaining that, while nothing has been set in stone yet, “all options are possible” for the series.
“I don’t know if there will be more,” she said. “Time will tell. It’s always had a labyrinthine history. I think it’s so elastic in some ways, and it’s had a strange life. It’s been across so many different channels and had international audiences, so there’s no single way forward for the show. All options are possible.”
Eve Myles has recently said that “there is life” left in the show, while John Barrowman thinks a movie’s the “next progression”. Where do you want to see Jack and Gwen?

Peter Davison has revealed that he would be “very surprised” if Doctor Who’s 50th anniversary was marked with a multi-Doctor special.
“I don’t feel like it’s the kind of thing they’d do,” he told BANG Showbiz recently. “I would be very surprised if they tried to do anything involving the old Doctors, because it always takes a slight stretch of the imagination anyway to figure out why the previous Doctors look older. But I’m sure that can be done, and I feel no need to turn my back on it.”
Steven Moffat has promised that the plans for the landmark year are “quite extensive”.
