The NZ Herald has a new interview with Eve Myles about all things Torchwood, during which she reveals that “there is life” in the series beyond Miracle Day.

“I thought after Children of Earth, how do you top that? If you can’t top it, don’t come back,” she said. “What we try to do every year is tell a different story. Some might like the more alien stuff, some might like the domestic stuff, but you can’t ever say it will be boring or samey. As long as there’s Russell T Davies, there is life in Torchwood.”

About how being involved with Torchwood has changed her life, she explained: “I can’t quite put it into words. There isn’t a second that goes by when I am doing my job where I don’t grab hold of every inch of it and try to absorb it and enjoy it more. Because it is massive. It’s huge. When I’m not on the job I am talking about the job – and all I talk about is Gwen Cooper, and I hope I never, ever take it for granted.”

John Barrowman recently revealed that he thinks a movie is the “next progression”.

As long as they axe the Miracle Day storyline, there is still life.

If Torchwood was at least about Jack saving the world with his trusted team, I could get behind whatever they did! But I don’t need the fluff! I don’t need the CIA or any other government agency working with Torchwood. I don’t need an extra immortal sidekick who I spent more time wishing would drop dead than I did the death row dude. And mostly, I don’t need anyone taking room from away Qwen Cooper! She made the series for me! Qwen, Andy, and of course “the big idiot!” They were why I kept coming back!

And does anyone remember when Jack was Omni-sexual? Wasn’t that part of his appeal?

I’m not sure they will especially with how it ended with Rex surviving the bullet.

I agree; back to Cardiff, axe all that American crap, and make Miracle Day a bad dream. Yeah; Gwen ate a spoiled pickled egg before going to bed, and dreamt all that up. I can hope now can’t I? LOL

I’d also agree, I really wish they’d get rid of all the American rubbish. Torchwood fought everything the rift could throw at them with only five people.

Unfortunately, the horrible Miracle Day story is going to continue because the Families are going to Plan B and Rex is immortal because of Jack’s blood, which makes no sense of course.

So based on this, if there is a Series 5, I won’t be watching.

As an avid Torchwood fan it would be horrible (if the axe does swing) to end with lose ends and some remaining questions unanswered as it has done to allot of good sci-fi shows in the wake of the news of the axing of Doctor Who Confidential .So I would hope that the new series (if it does go ahead) will conclude any remnant of Miracle Day to focus on the plan B scenario , Rex’s condition and especially on the relationship between Jack and Gwen. Fingers crossed.

You ever feel like the fans are the last people that get listened to?

That’s common across the worlds of TV, Film and even Video Games though Grace. I’ve seen two TV franchises completely ignore what fans were saying (not including Doctor Who or Torchwood) and a lot of people say that’s because they can’t listen to every single person’s opinion and act on it.

They’re less clear when it comes to a large part of the fanbase having a single opinion. At that point, it becomes a game of “yeah, but if we listen to what you say, you may say things we don’t like, so we aren’t listening”.

They then proceed to do things exactly as they want and then you either enjoy it or there’s the door.

This is my 500th post, it can’t only be negative, erm………only 66 days till the Doctor Who Christmas Special?

Yeah, that didn’t work, I mentioned Christmas, when last year’s seems like yesterday, lol
