John Barrowman pens new novel with his sister
A new children’s novel penned by John Barrowman is due to be published by Buster Books next month!
The Torchwood actor has co-written the fantasy story, which is called Hollow Earth, with his sister, Carole E. Barrowman. It tells the epic tale of young telepathic twins Matt and Emily Calder, who possess the power to bring art to life. However, their abilities are sought by villains, who aim to reach Hollow Earth, where all the demons, devils and evil creatures ever imagined lie, trapped there for the whole of eternity.
As HeraldScotland reports, the story features the fictional Scottish island, Auchinmurn, which was inspired by Great Cumbrae, as well as John and Carole’s Scottish gran, Murn.
“Both of us were really close to our Gran Butler, Murn, as we called her, and her sister, our Auntie Jeannie,” John explained. “When we lived in Scotland, and our mum and dad went out, Murn and Jeannie would watch us. We’d always have a good laugh together.”
Hollow Earth – written by John and Carole E. Barrowman – is out on 2nd February 2012.

Sounds a little like Inkheart, but with art instead of literature. Still, it sounds like a good tale, and I think I’ll get it out from the library, even if I don’t buy it.
Also sounds like Witch & Wizard by James Patterson
