i have the series 1 to 4 seperate but am a sucker for buyin everything doctor who bring out so ill have to buy this aswell
Even though I own Series 4 on Blu-ray, I may just pick up the complete set. Simply for the sake of having the whole series in one set.
Just typical, when I get all the separate DVD for all series they go and release a collection of all the episodes…it’s a nice thing to do, but it’s just annoying for those who have purchased the individual volumes over Christmas..
I might get the big box set at some ponit this year, it looks a great box set with good cover art
You know what I’d like them to do, release the scripts from the episodes they didn’t get to film. After seeing how truly extraordinary the three episodes were I have a feeling that this season would have been the best of the Doctor Who franchise! Unlike with Torchwood and Doctor Who, this show was far from rudderless and shouldn’t be allowed to go into that gentle good night!
@Grace – Really? You think in the whole 48 year franchise of DW, comprising of a total 43 seasons for all shows, you think Series 5 of SJA could have been the best? That’s quite a claim, when you consider that some might say one of the other series of SJA was better anyway. If anyone has seen Seasons 12, 13 and 14 of the original series for DW, you’re more likely to say it’s one if them.
Personally, considering the way the show ended, I think it should be given a ‘gentle good night’, because even so there’s not a lot left the show could give anyway. I do agree though that the unfilmed scripts should be released, perhpas in a book or something.
@Jack
Pardom me, I forgot the same people that post here aren’t on the actual Whoviannet for the Doctor Who series and therefore have not read my many, many, posts lauding the Classic Who Series and even Seasons 1-5 of the new one. As someone that owns every available episode (Classic and New Who, Torchwood, and SJA)and watching them with great frequency I can tell you nothing on today compares to what we had back then!
However, with both Season Six of new Who and Season Four of Torchwood being a spectacular disappointment for me, I was compelled to say that SJA’s final Season showed a lot more promise with it’s williness to step out of the comfort zone and tell the heart wrenching stories that are relevent for our times.
That’s all I was trying to say.
Okay, I get where you’re coming from. Sorry if I sounded a bit harsh or blunt.
on second thoughts ill just stick with the seperate series as its a waste of money buying this complete collection as well
