The nominations for this year’s Portal Awards were recently revealed, and there is plenty of Doctor Who to go around!

Matt Smith is up for Best Television Actor, while his co-stars – Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill – are shortlisted in the Best TV Actress/Best Televison Supporting Actor categories, respectively. Alex Kingston is in the running to win Best TV Special Guest for her portrayal of River, and the mid-Series 6 finale, A Good Man Goes to War, is nominated for Best TV Episode. The series itself is up for Best TV Series.

Steven Moffat and the late Elisabeth Sladen are in the running for the Gene Roddenberry lifetime achievement award. Fans can vote once a day between 25th June and 25th July.

Regardless of how much I love Doctor Who, I’ve got to say that Season 4 of Fringe was a masterpiece even though Alex Kingston and A Good Man Goes To War are both fantastic.

I personally think that Arthur Darvill was the best. Karen didn´t have much to do except in The Girl who waited, where she was great but it was too little and too late. I am biased because I never really liked Smith´s Doctor (nothing against him personally, of course) but Arthur gave Rory something that made him grow as a character even when he had nothing to do.
