The Doctor’s heartbreaking farewell to Amy and Rory takes them on a race against time through the streets of Manhattan, as New York’s statues come to life around them.

And that, folks, is that. After months of speculation and anticipation, the Ponds’ have left the building, but did their exit story live up to expectations? There’s one way to find out…

It’s no exaggeration to say that Amy and Rory’s time in the TARDIS has been a long and winding road of drama and suspense. Since 2010, they have had their fair share of ups and downs, highs and lows – and we have been with them every step of the way. The emotional rollercoaster that is Pond Life made its final stop tonight, as the star-crossed lovers bowed out in spectacular style. In The Angels Take Manhattan, the trio found themselves in an epic race against time as the Angels wreaked havoc through New York.

Rory was caught in the crossfire as statues came to life all around them, and even River Song came along for the action-packed ride. But ultimately the events led to heartbreak when the Doctor’s best friends bid adieu to their Raggedy hero, and as those closing minutes played out, we’re sure the Angels weren’t the only ones who were left weeping!

So… what did you think? Was the adventure a worthy ending for the new series’ longest-serving companions? Did it unearth more questions than it answered? Arthur warned us it’d be “pretty teary”, but did their swansong have you sobbing into your cushion? You can discuss the episode below (spoilers!)… then what next? Well, jingle all the way…

I loved the ending so much! The episode was amazing and even today, I still cry when they jump of the building (Blame the music added to the scene) and when Amy leaves. I wouldn’t class it as the best Doctor Who exit ever, but it’s in that list of my favorite exits. Goodbye Ponds! :(
