Steven Moffat has reaffirmed that he has no plans to bring Amy and Rory back to Doctor Who.

The showrunner revealed the Ponds story is now “absolutely over” following the events of the latest episode The Angels Take Manhattan. “At the very beginning I said ‘Let’s make it a proper ending’,” he explained. “It is better to just end it and then get out. You can never eliminate the possibility of a dream sequence or a flashback. I have no plans, but will the Doctor ever see them again? No.”

Recently a tabloid claimed that past companions will return for the 50th anniversary.
