Jessica Raine discusses her forthcoming Who role

Call the Midwife’s Jessica Raine has been speaking to Radio Times about her forthcoming Doctor Who role.

The actress will be appearing in the next series and said her time on set was “a magical experience”. “It was something I was happy to do,” she revealed. “It’s all mind machines and strobe lighting – you have to throw yourself into it and take it seriously.” She also described Matt Smith as “a brilliant actor”, predicting: “He has a very long career ahead of him. I like how he brings a darker edge to the Doctor.”
