The BBC’s today launched a new competition giving young fans the chance to create a short Doctor Who soundtrack.

Secondary school students aged 11-16 have been invited to write their very own original piece of music to accompany a scene from The Snowmen. The winners, as chosen by top composers including Doctor Who’s conductor Ben Foster, will be mentored by professional composers before the music is showcased at this year’s Doctor Who Prom in July. For full details, inspiration and term and conditions, click here.

The entry deadline is Friday 24th May. Let us know if your school will be participating!

I run Whovian Hour at school and might get them to do this, if they want, as I’m 2 years too old to enter, myself. Ugh! SO ANNOYED! Maybe when you reach 16, you should just stop watching Doctor Who, seeing as we obviously don’t matter to them thereafter! :(

Ugh, sick of this. I mean, it’s great they’re encouraging kids and stuff but, I’m sorry, it’s not the kids looking for job experience. >>

I would’ve loved to enter, but I am too old, too. How annoying,
