The BBC has confirmed that this year’s series of Doctor Who will reach its dramatic conclusion in a special extended episode.

Series 8’s final episode, Death in Heaven, will air on BBC One on Saturday 8th November from 8pm, lasting 60 minutes. In the climactic adventure, written by Steven Moffat, old friends unite against old enemies as the Doctor takes to the air in a startling new role.

The first part of the finale, Dark Water, airs this weakend.
