The BBC has today (Monday) revealed the official plot details for Series 9’s penultimate episode, and it sure as hell sounds like it’s gonna be a hum-bloomin’-dinger!

Heaven Sent, helmed by returning director Rachel Talalay,  will air on BBC One on Saturday 28th November and, if this new synopsis isn’t enough to send your Whovian feels into an unprecedented overdrive, let us casually remind you that the man calling the shots, Steven Moffat, has previously admitted that he’s gone and set himself a “ludicrous challenge” with this episode. We’re terrified already.

Trapped in a world unlike any other he has seen, the Doctor faces the greatest challenge of his many lives. One final test. And he must face it alone.

Pursued by the fearsome creature known only as the Veil, he must attempt the impossible. If he makes it through, Gallifrey is waiting…
