DWM celebrates 500th issue
It’s been an historic week for Doctor Who Magazine who published their bumper 500th issue on Thursday.
The landmark edition sports a specially commissioned cover featuring Peter Capaldi recreating the first ever issue, which was released – priced 12p – under the name of ‘Doctor Who Weekly’ on 17th October 1979. Inside Issue 500, the Twelfth and Fourth Doctors chats exclusively about its momentous history which has seen it become the longest running tie-in magazine of all time. Not too shabby for something that all started out as a mild curiosity in a junkyard!
It’s not all about commemorating the past, though. Incoming companion Pearl Mackie has written a letter to the fans as Steven Moffat reveals more about her character, Bill, as well as some tantalising tidbits about her first adventures in Series 10. All of that plus the usual news, reviews, competitions and more! DWM #500 is on sale now for £9.99 and comes in a special card envelope with a bonus 116-page supplement, a poster, stickers and art card.
