Patrick Ness “optimistic” about Class Series 2
Patrick Ness has revealed that he has high hopes that Class will be picked up for a second series.
The first series of the Doctor Who spin off is currently being released weekly on BBC Three (you can Rate & Discuss the latest episode, Co-Owner of a Lonely Heart, here) and its creator and writer told Sci-Fi Bulletin that his fingers are “really, really crossed” that there will be more to come. “I would love the chance to do a second series,” he said. “I’ve just got to get people to keep watching, which they are, so I hope so. I’m optimistic, but not certain.”
He went on to say that the response to the show thus far has been “a genuine pleasure”, as its debut was shrouded with “nervousness”. He explained: “It came in as part of a 53 year old long established universe, but I like a challenge. The reaction from young viewers has been very heartening. They seem to love the characters and the cast, so I’m relieved.”
