Sacha Dhawan has responded to recent speculation that he is in the running to become the Thirteenth Doctor.

The actor – who Doctor Who fans will recognise for his portrayal of the show’s first director, Waris Hussein, in the 2013 docudrama An Adventure in Space and Time – told Radio Times that he feels “honoured” to even be considered. “That alone is good enough,” he said. “But oh my God, I would absolutely love to do it. Who wouldn’t? It’s Doctor Who! It’d be incredibly nerve-wracking, though. It’s quite a lot of pressure. But I think I’d bring something exciting to it.”

The Thirteenth Doctor is expected to make his/her debut in this year’s Christmas Special. Other rumoured names include Kris Marshall, Tilda Swinton and Tom Weston-Jones.
