Regeneration teased in dramatic Series 10 trailer

Warning! This article and its comments may contain spoilers...

With less than two weeks to go until the Doctor is back on our screens, the BBC have released a new trailer for his upcoming adventures.

The 30 second teaser boasts an array of previously unseen clips, but it’s what happens at the very end that is particularly intriguing. We all know by now that Peter Capaldi will be bidding farewell to the TARDIS in the Christmas Special, but this latest development suggests that his regeneration may begin a lot sooner than expected. Unless, that is, it’s all just a red herring to get us all talking/throw us off the scent!

Needless to say, it has definitely succeeded on both of those counts! You can check it out in the player below, and let us know your thoughts and theories in the comments. Whether you like it or not, the end of the Twelfth Doctor is a-comin’. After this, though, we’re not exactly sure when. We’re sure you’ll agree, this has got Steven Moffat written all over it…

New adventures. New companion. Same Doctor! Read the latest Series 10 news…

I personally think that it’s kind of a repeat of what 10 did after he was shot by a Dalek, at least that’s how I remember it. Correct me if I’m wrong though.

No, you’re right. A Dalek shot the 10th Doctor and he used one of his regenerations to repair the damage, whilst retaining his body and personality. In Series 6, the 11th Doctor also appeared to regenerate too, but it actually turned out to be the Teselecta, so Doctor Who does have form with fake regenerations.

I think Peter Capaldi said that he was going to be filming the Christmas Special this summer, which was meant to be the 12th Doctor’s last story, so either it was a lie to make the trailer more explosive or there is another explanation for what we’re seeing.
