Fans of the Tenth Doctor and Donna Noble just cannot get enough at the moment with their long awaited return to the world of Big Finish just around the corner.

Not only that, though, but they’ll also be back in a brand new novel, In the Blood, which will be published next month. Written by Jenny T. Colgan, the original adventure promises to take readers on a madcap journey through the world of social media as one day, all over the world, internet trolls start dying. We’ll bring you more about the book soon, but in the meantime, check out its full synopsis and cover below…

All over the world, people are venting their fury at one another on social media. Dropping their friends, giving vent to their hatred, and everywhere behaving with incredible cruelty. Even Donna has found that her friend Hettie, with her seemingly perfect life and fancy house, has unfriended her. And now, all over the world, internet trolls are dying…

As more and more people give in to this wave of bitterness and aggression, it’s clear this is no simple case of modern living. This is unkindness as a plague.

From the streets of London to the web cafes of South Korea and the deepest darkest forests of Rio, can the Doctor and Donna find the cause of this unhappiness before it’s too late?

A brand new Doctor Who Magazine has been released this week and you’ll have no trouble spotting it on the shelves as it features two of the most familiar and beloved faces in sci-fi history.

And no, we’re not talking about Captain Jack and River Song (although how great would that be?!). This month’s cover stars are none other than David Tennant and Catherine Tate who – just in case you missed the memo – have reunited for a new range of Big Finish audio adventures which will be released to buy and download next month.

Inside Issue #498, the real life alter egos of the Tenth Doctor and Donna Noble spill the beans on their forthcoming return to the airwaves, which Catherine describes as “original” and “very fun to do”. Meanwhile, John Leeson reveals what it’s like to be the voice of K-9 as Elisabeth Sladen’s daughter, Sadie Miller, reflects on growing up in the world of Doctor Who. There’s all of that and more in Doctor Who Magazine #498, out now priced at £4.99.

Big Finish have revealed the covers for their highly anticipated Tenth Doctor audio adventures.

Last October it was confirmed that one of the show’s most popular duos – David Tennant and Catherine Tate – would be reprising their respective roles as the Tenth Doctor and Donna Noble for three new original audio adventures, which will each be released to buy and download this May. To raise anticipation (which, admittedly, is already through the roof), you can now check out the artwork for each of them below. What do you think?

‘Technophobia’ by Matt Fitton

When the Doctor and Donna visit London’s Technology Museum for a glimpse into the future, things don’t go to plan.

The most brilliant IT brain in the country can’t use her computer. More worrying, the exhibits are attacking the visitors, while outside, people seem to be losing control of the technology that runs their lives.

Is it all down to simple human stupidity, or is something more sinister going on?

Beneath the streets, the Koggnossenti are waiting. For all of London to fall prey to technophobia…

‘Time Reaver’ by Jenny T. Colgan

Calibris. The spaceport planet where anything goes. Where anyone who doesn’t want to be found can be lost, and where everything has its price. Where betentacled gangster Gully holds sway at the smugglers’ tavern, Vagabond’s Reach.

The alien Vacintians are trying to impose some order on the chaos. Soon the Doctor and Donna discover why. An illegal weapon is loose on the streets. A weapon that destroys lives… Slowly and agonisingly.

The Time Reaver.

‘Death and the Queen’ by James Goss

Donna Noble has never been lucky in love.

So when, one day, her Prince does come, she is thrilled to have the wedding of all weddings to look forward to. Though the Doctor isn’t holding his breath for an invitation. And her future mother-in-law is certainly not amused.

But on the big day itself, Donna finds her castle under siege from the darkest of forces, marching at the head of a skeleton army.

When it looks like even the Doctor can’t save the day, what will Queen Donna do to save her people from Death itself?

Please join us as we raise our glasses to wish David Tennant a very happy birthday!

The actor – who played the Tenth Doctor from 2005 to 2010 – turns 44 today, and we hope he enjoys his celebrations.

He reprised his role as TV’s favourite Time Lord as part of the 50th anniversary special, The Day of the Doctor, in 2013 and has since revealed that “it’s a wonderful thing” to be associated with such an iconic franchise. His episodes will be repeated on Disney XD in the US from next month.

Feel free to share your birthday wishes, and your favourite Tenth Doctor moments, below…

One of Doctor Who’s most popular on screen partnerships reigned supreme in their respective categories at the WhatsOnStage theatre awards earlier tonight.

Tenth Doctor actor David Tennant was named Best Actor for his leading role in the RSC production of Richard II while Billie Piper, who starred as his companion Rose Tyler, was awarded the title of Best Actress for her performance as a tabloid news editor in Great Britain at the National Theatre. Billie was unable to attend the ceremony but has posted a message on her official website to thank everyone who voted.

David and Billie were last seen in Doctor Who together in The Day of the Doctor in 2013.

Huge congratulations to David Tennant who was the recipient of a surprise Special Recognition award at tonight’s National Television Awards!

The actor received the prestigious accolade in honour of his contributions to stage and screen and his speech was preceded by a celebratory montage during which familiar faces – including Billie Piper, Russell T Davies and Catherine Tate – paid tribute to their friend and colleague. One of David’s most iconic roles, of course, was as the Tenth Doctor in Doctor Who which he originally played from 2005 to 2010.

It turned out to be the only cause for celebration for Doctor Who at the ceremony however. The show itself lost out in the only category in which it was nominated as Downton Abbey was unveiled as the nation’s Best Drama. Commiserations to the cast and crew in Cardiff.

On a brighter note, Doctor Who has been shortlisted in the category every year since its revival back in 2005, out of which it’s won a grand total of 6 times, so it’s not all bad news!
