While some of the world has already enjoyed the premiere of Miracle Day (if you have, let us know what you thought of it in our discussion!), for the UK there’s still a few days to go until Jack and Gwen officially return.

To help pass the rest of the time, the BBC has released a new trailer for the first episode, The New World, which airs on Thursday on BBC One. Watch the trail here or below. Oh, and don’t forget to check out the new and exclusive Miracle Day content on the Red Button from tomorrow!

3 brand new radioplays – The Lost Files – will also be airing on BBC Radio 4 this week.

Meanwhile, the BBC recently issued an official statement in regards to the complaints recieved about the UK’s later Series 4 premiere date (14th July). Were you angered?

We are pleased to announce that Torchwood will return to BBC One at 21.00 on Thursday 14 July.

Starz in the US have the contractual right to the World Premiere, that relates to the deal that was done and ultimately this has created better value for licence fee payers.

Contractually, the broadcasters in other territories can transmit from the next day onwards but being as close to the transmission in the US is not the only factor in the scheduling decision. We have identified what we think is the best slot for BBC One viewers and have also ensured that it’s within a week of transmission in the US.

torchwoods-on-a-mission-of-world-domination

Interviews with the cast and crew of Torchwood continue to pop up from all corners of the globe as the world prepares itself for the arrival of the brand new series!

Over in Canada, where Miracle Day premieres this Saturday at 9pm ET on SPACE, John Barrowman and Russell T Davies have been speaking to Dose about what’s in store. About Jack’s popularity, the actor who portrays him says: “I can’t tell you how much he’s changed my life”, while the spin off’s creator quips: “When you meet John, you’re in for life!”

John adds: “I have had a very varied career, but Jack is a huge part of it and I am so pleased to play him. I am shocked and thrilled that people like him. I love going to work everyday, and as long as I can, I’ll continue to be Captain Jack Harkness…”

Elsewhere, on the other side of the world, John has also been chatting to Yahoo!7 in Australia, who will also get to see Jack back in action on Saturday, at 8:30pm on UKTV.

Over in the US, John and Mekhi Phifer (Rex Matheson) have spoken to the New York Post ahead of Miracle Day’s debut on Starz on Friday at 10pm ET/PT, and there has also been plenty of Torchwood talk here in the UK to tide us over until its launch next week.

Speaking to TV Choice, John has promised a “cinematic” adventure, while Eve gives an insight into Gwen’s “outrageously fierce” atttitude. “It’s very much her armed to the teeth with rocket launchers, double-barrelled shotguns, machetes and a baby bottle,” she teases. “There’s no time to breathe. She doesn’t stop. She’s a lioness with her cub.”

Meanwhile, John has told What’s on TV that he’d happily play Jack forever, explaining: “This is going to sound really cheesy, but I don’t care, because Jack has become a hero to everybody, which is what makes me so thrilled. If someone said to me, ‘John, you are going to play Captain Jack Harkness for the rest of your life’, I would be content.”
