BARB have now released the final UK ratings for Episode 5 of Miracle Day, The Categories of Life, which was shown on BBC One on Thursday 11th August.
The episode, written by Jane Espenson, was tuned in for by an official audience of 5.17million, which makes Torchwood the channel’s 19th most watched programme that week.
The series continues tomorrow night at 9pm in Immortal Sins, in which Gwen takes a terrifying journey.

Miracle Day continued in the UK on Thursday night in Ep 6, The Middle Men, by John Shiban.
The episode aired to mixed but not terrible reviews, as SFX have described it “middling”, while the Independent have admitted that it “ended up being disappointing” in the “action and plot progression” department. Of course, it’s all subject to opinion, so let us know what you thought of it! In the world of ratings, the ep was seen by an unofficial audience of 3.4million, with 5.1million opting for Big Brother instead.

Here are the final ratings for the fourth episode of Miracle Day, Escape to L.A.!
The episode, written by John Shiban and Jim Gray, aired on BBC One on 4th August and was watched by an audience of 5.19million, making Torchwood the 10th most watched show of the week. Up next is The Middle Men, this Thursday at 9pm, in which Gwen, Rex and Esther are trapped on either side of the Atlantic as Jack faces a race against time when he goes right to the heart of the conspiracy.
According to overnight ratings, Episode 5, which was written by Jane Espenson, was seen by an unofficial audience of 4.1 million. It had a 17.6% share, which makes Torchwood the most watched programme in the 9pm slot. Meanwhile, the critical response to the episode has also been positive. The Metro has said that it “is still worth watching”, but SFX have said it was “a real mixed bag”. Do you agree?

BARB has revealed that Episode 3 of Miracle Day, Dead of Night, was watched by an official audience of 5.49million on BBC One in the UK.
In the episode, which aired on 28th July and was written by Jane Espenson, the team went on the run and found a new enemy as they launched a raid on PhiCorp headquarters.
The series continues on BBC One on Thursday with another Jane Espenson written episode, The Categories of Life.

Thursday night’s instalment of Miracle Day, Escape to LA, was watched by an unofficial audience of 4.0million on BBC One, a 17.4% share.
The episode, written by John Shiban and Jim Gray, has been received well by critics, with the Guardian marking it down as the ep in which “the series finally realises its potential”.

BARB have confirmed the final UK ratings for Episode 2 of Miracle Day, Rendition, which aired on Thursday 21st July.
The episode, in which Captain Jack realised he was the most vulnerable man on Earth as a flight to the USA turned into a battle for survival, was watched by an official audience of 5.75million on BBC One, which is slightly down on the figure achieved by the series premiere the week before.
The new series continues this Thursday in Escape to LA.
4.2million people (18.8%) tuned in for Dead of Night on BBC One last night, according to overnight ratings.
Three weeks in, the new series continues to be “enthralling”, says the Telegraph, while the Independent have praised it for its “interesting” plot twists and turns. Elsewhere, SFX have described it as “thoroughly watchable”, and the Metro has also summarised: “Torchwood can’t help but entertain, however silly it may be”. Do you agree with what they’ve said? The New World was watched by an audience of 6.59million on BBC One, making it the channel’s 8th most watched show of the week. Plus, the rating is similiar to that achieved by the opening episode of Children of Earth (6.47million).

Rendition aired in the UK last night, and overnight ratings show that it was watched by an audience of 4.4million, a 19% share of the total television audience.
Overall, the reaction to the episode has been positive, with the Independent praising the “pulse-racing” episode for its “epic story-telling”. Meanwhile, the Metro has described the second instalment as “an enjoyable romp”, and – over on Twitter – writer James Moran has summarised: “Ep2 was huge fun, mad, and full of great moments”.
