Matt and Karen head to Gloucestershire!
Filming for the fifth series of Doctor Who is now well underway, and it has been confirmed that the principal cast and crew will be heading down to Gloucestershire at some point over the next few days to film scenes inside Puzzlewood and the Clearwell Caves in the Forest of Dean.
It won’t be the first time the show has used the attraction as a set; production has previously taken place there for episodes including The Christmas Invasion and The Satan Pit, and the staff are thrilled that the Time Lord (albeit a newly-regenerated one!) will be stopping by again to shoot parts of a brand new adventure at the stunning location.
“David Tennant came here three times and he was a really nice chap, so we are looking forward to meeting the new [Doctor],” said Jonathan Wright, manager of Clearwell Caves. “It’s nice to rub shoulders with glamour once in a while.”
The cameras began rolling on Monday, and the first day of principal photography brought with it a string of surprises that have, naturally, resulted in mass fan speculation and debate across the web (it was bound to happen!). You can join in with WhovianNet’s new series festivities here!
