Hamlet to air on BBC2 at Christmas!

October 16th, 2009

david_tennantIt has been revealed that the televised version of the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Hamlet will transmit on BBC2 on Christmas Day.

The 180-minute drama was filmed earlier this year following on from its overwhelming success on stage last year, and all of its original cast returned to shoot the Shakespeare classic out on location, including Tenth Doctor actor David Tennant, who plays Hamlet himself!

This is great news because it means we’ll be getting even more from David on Christmas Day, with the transmission of part one of his Doctor Who regeneration two-parter also due to air!

Meanwhile, the Hamlet DVD release, which was originally slated for a 28th December release, has now been pushed back to 4th January 2010.

    Yay! Hamlet on Christmas day!

Not yay! DVD not released on my birthday anymore!

I think the ‘yay’ overrules the ‘not yay’.
