Royal Mint unveil Doctor Who medals

royal-mintThe Royal Mint have unveiled their new limited edition Doctor Who medals, which went on sale today.

The medals feature artwork of David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor, as well as K-9, the TARDIS, and a Dalek, and are available to purchase now via the Royal Mint website, here, marking the first time a TV programme has been featured on one of their medals.

“David Tennant’s performance as the Doctor has been applauded and celebrated across the country,” said Richard Hollis, Head of UK Licensing at BBC Worldwide. ”These medals are a fantastic way for fans to collect a lasting memento.”

    Sorry for the double post: what does it mean when it says, for example “Doctor Who: Dalek BU Medal”? What does BU mean?
