@e.p ur wrong steven moffat himself side he created jack and tryed to get him for series 5 but couldnt as john barrowman who plays jack was busy shooting torchwood among other stuff but he said he will bring him in for a futre series as long as he can get him just thought u should no RTD did not create captian jack harkness!!!!

Actually if I remember correctly Jack is RTD’s creation, but was put in Moffat’s episode (and then obviously Moffat had control over the character with the script, etc).
Regardless, there is every possibility that Jack will come back in the future, but this season was Moffat’s opportunity to make his own name as head writer, so throwbacks to the RTD era were understandably few and far between.

As I said in another post in reference to the unknown Time Agent and their vortex manipulator:
I don’t think it was Jack’s because he isn’t a Time Agent anymore, and he had both hands plus his vortex manipulator when he met the Doctor. In fact, I think he was able to escape the Time Agency and become a con man (The Empty Child/Doctor Dances) because he had his vortex manipulator.
But I guess we just have to wait and see

Only because something was in RTD’s era doesn’t mean moffat
will not use them. Its still the same show And series 5 has been amazing btw! But i do hope they get a bigger budget next year tbh. But i still love the show!

@Michael Sage Yeah but Moffat created the charector (The Empty Child, The Doctor Dances) and the Weeping Angles were in RTD's era but Moffat created them, so hes brought them back

Season 5 was epic brilliant love stephen moffats geneious. grew to love matt smith as the dr and karen gillan as his trusty companion with her now hubby rory. Roll on season six keep up the good work moffat
