Er…. can I just say, this is not the first time this has happened. The Five Doctors had its world premiere in the United States, on the Chicago PBS station WTTW and various other PBS member stations on 23 November 1983. It was transmitted in the United Kingdom two days later on 25 November. Also, this is not the first time Doctor Who has been filmed “the other side of the pond”. The 1996 pilot was filmed in Canada. Shockingly, the 1996 Doctor Who “the movie” had a UK viewing figure of 9.08, it was not considered to be enough for the BBC to continue investing it’s own money into the series. Considering the new series, there having only been 14 episodes in 6 years with higher viewing figures.

BTW according to many reliable web sources DW will air on the 23rd April 2011 in both the UK and USA with the time difference the Uk get the first viewing as predicted by many whovians…enjoy looking forward to it and watching it to all Whovians worldwide.

i am somewhat concerned or am i confused.DW is a classic British programme and that is possibly the attraction that brings a lot of the US viewers as it is something different to a lot of US shows that are very traditionally American and im not being rude but American tv is very dummed down and if its not an instant hit is never given a chance to grow.I hope it is not going to change the show and that it is just a way of attracting viewers across the pond and that DW works its charms on the US Viewers.i am pleased that DW is doing so well in the USA as having lived there myself for 3 years you could only get any British tv on PBS ON A SUNDAY which was a little classic DW in the morning and Eastenders in the evening.DW FILM Didnt work REmember

It’s annoying that the US date was announced first, but Americans like knowing the start dates of shows wayy in advance while the BBC usually holds off until closer to the date.
At any rate we know it’ll air in the UK first, but whether that’s by a few hours or weeks remains to be seen…

Didn’t BBC America run Series 5 two weeks behind the UK? That would place the UK premiere on April 9th. Someone somewhere predicted that date. Hmmmm. Who was it?

I am completely annoyed by this! Dr who is a british show and we should be getting the news first then the US.

But at least UK fans have titles from some of the episodes.
