@Calli Arcale Definitely. Are you a fanfic writer then? @Theta Sigma Oh yes! Loved it. @Professor Zed I think you're probably along the right lines. If you think about the massive effects that the Second World War had on Earth, then it simply has to be a fixed point. And wouldn't that be a wonderful reason for Kovarian to want a weapon against the Doctor: to make the universe better. Stop all the genocides, cure all the illnesses. And the Doctor has to fight for the plagues and the wars of human history to survive. Right, if that doesn't happen, I am so writing it in the form of fanfiction.

The greatest war criminal of all time and Hitler. COuld this greatest criminal be River? We still need to know who the good man is that she kills! I too have read that River will be in this episode. It’s all looking rather fabulous!

@Tom Beasley I think your probably right that it is the doctor himself is the greatest war criminal or it could be River/Melody. Has anyone else noticed that the Doc seemsmore angry and seems to care less about people dying and seems I dont know….. more dark or something

I don’t think Kovarian is an old enemy such as the Master, I believe we’ll find out exactly why she wants her “weapon” against the Doctor in the second half of this series. And to be honest, if we don’t i’ll be rather disappointed!
As for this episode, it pretty much tells us that “the greatest war criminal in the Universe” is also a time-traveler, whether it’s a vortex manipulator or something else, I don’t know. But whoever this is, the Doctor apparently teaches them about the responsibilities of time-travel. So surely a non-time-traveler is out of the question? I sure look forward to finding out.

I’m thinking that “the greatest war criminal in the Universe” is probably the Doctor himself. He did effectively commit mass-genocide at the end of the Time War.

Still have to wonder if it’s Kovarian’s plan to kill Hitler prior to the start of his reign of terror, and it’s the Doctor who has to save Hitler! (One of those “fixed points” of time/history that the 10th Doctor was always going on about.) I think that might make an interesting dilemma for the Doctor to deal with.

JC — you are correct, that the Doctor left Amy & Rory behind at the end of “A Good Man Goes to War”, telling River to take them back home (and presumably also to take the Silurian and her human companion back home to their proper time as well).

BTW, random thought, but anybody else think that the Silurian and her human companion are totally tailor-made for fanfiction?
