Perhaps the Angels will have some new power that makes it impossible to return...it wouldn't be the first time that they changed for the plot. But how would it be a "final end" for Amy and Rory? Even so, it is an excellent theory. Mels said that the last time she had regenerated, she "ended up a toddler in New York". She didn't say, however, that she hadn't regenerated again in between. There is still the gap from 1969 to 1989...we don't know where she was or who she was with or even what she looked like. I can't wait for this episode! @Adam Towers

The "skin" is made out of copper and I doubt making the national symbol of American freedom into a huge monster is best way to attain American viewership. I do however believe in the River theory that the weeping angels touch Rory & Amy whilst they're in New York. That makes them dead in our timeline but safe in another to live life out with the younger Melody. It would give us the heartbreak of Amy & Rory dead whilst letting River Song carry on in our timeline and the happily ever after ending in the alternate one. As a sidenote, is Carol Skinner threatening the BBC or has the budget department just stolen from Fort Knox - since when did Doctor Who have the budget for location filming in the U.S & Spain? Unless the last eight episodes are shot in a shed ;) Not sure about the liberty theory. Secondly, its shere size means it would have difficulty in moving through New York, though granted it did walk through New York in Ghostbusters 2. Thirdly, the fact that such a Weeping Angel could possibly send most of New York back in time to live on the lives they should have lived, which would be weird. Fourthly, how would you defeat the Statue of Liberty? Having said that, don't get me wrong, the Statue of Liberty as a Weeping Angel sounds great on paper, but I'm not seeing how you'd make it work practically. @shawn

Amy and the Doctor have an affair and repopulate the planet with new time lords? Any and Rory don’t leave and stay in the TARDIS. Although, with so many people looking at the statue, it's no wonder it doesn't move very far! :D @Mia

It says there the statues are back for a final encounter so is it the last of the Weeping Angels then? I'd be more devastated if that were true. That would be the scariest thing ever. Imagine them turning the Statue of Liberty into a Weeping Angel. That would be the scariest thing ever.
