They barely left before they returned and that only happened once in Classic Who. The only companion I think should return in Jack, because he's an irregular companion, so it'd make sense, not least because he's yet to meet Matt Smith's Doctor. I'd love to see Classic Who companions return, but nothing from the RTD era (bar Jack). We're past that era now and many fans need to realize that and just accept that Doctor Who is a show that's all about change. So we can't always remain in the past, stuck to one particular era of the show, otherwise we wouldn't be where we are today.
