If it's literal and he is regenerating from 11th to 12th Doctor, we may actually get to see a bit of Capaldi before the at least EIGHT MONTH hiatus of the show. In the Revived Series, the Doctor usually regenerates when everything is finished and he's with his companion/alone, so if the 11th Doctor regenerated and the 12th Doctor had to finish whatever problem there is, it'd be unusual but also great to be able to see more than a few seconds of Capaldi's Doctor. Harsh though, having to deal with things immediately after regenerating and dealing with the mental confusion that goes with it. The Dalek saying “The Doctor is regenerating” is interesting.
