As I said in my first post, I don’t really have a favourite companion but I will agree that Sarah Jane Smith was an important part of Doctor Who history. I’ll always remember that poignant moment in “School Reunion” when Sarah Jane walks into the cupboard and sees the Tardis. That haunting music as she backs out and the 10th Doctor is standing behind her was an amazing moment.
Despite how Grace feels about Rose, I also liked how Sarah Jane and Rose finally get on and start cracking up, whilst the Doctor’s completely oblivious.
DOCTOR: How’s it going?
(Sarah Jane and Rose keep laughing.)
DOCTOR: What? Listen, I need to find out what’s programmed inside these.
(Hysteria is setting in.)
DOCTOR: What? Stop it!
I know there are a lot of people that don’t like Rose Tyler, but I can understand the result. If you’re a Revived Series fan, Rose Tyler was the first companion you knew.
I’d agree with Mia to a point though, Sarah Jane Smith and Elisabeth Sladen were special.
