Going back to the childhood of the 1st Doctor in the hut where the War Doctor would one day contemplate using The Moment was grandiose without a strong story to support it. Again, Moffat also made Clara monumentally important to the entire life of the Doctor by implanting a fear into him from the first incarnation. I don't know why he feels this need to do that, especially because it only makes Clara less likeable as time goes on. I can’t help thinking Listen was Steven Moffat indulging himself.
